Jim Henson’s Storyteller, Fairies #1

Jim Henson’s Storyteller. Art and script.
An adaption of an Icelandic fairy tale reworked to include Icelandic Saga hero, Grettir Ásmundarson

an excerpt from the story pitch:
”Viking Age Iceland, shortly before Yuletide.

An Elf Queen is cursed to spend all but one night a year away from her family as a farmer’s housekeeper in the human realm.  To make matters worse, each year at Yuletide her curse causes the death of the farm’s herdsman.

Enter into this story one Grettir the Strong, a formidable Icelander of prodigious strength.  Brave, yet ill tempered. Rough, yet poetic.

Undaunted by the widely spread tales of the unlucky farm and its string of deceased herdsmen, Grettir arrives looking for herding work.  Reluctantly taken on by the farmer, Grettir soon discovers the source of all the trouble. It’s up to the mighty and taciturn Grettir to set all to right for elf queen and farmer both.”

Summer colors goof-up. I set the story in winter, but somehow colored the cover incorrectly. Ooof.
