Twin Peaks
These drawings started initially back in 2015. David Lynch had announced the new “season 3” and then had walked away from it over disagreements with Showtime. The drawings of the season 1, 2, and FWWM were done each morning, with a cup of coffee, as a way to keep hope alive that Lynch would return. The drawings were of a trio of characters, initially unrelated and then being grouped with a theme—Book House Boys, Love Triangles, FBI, One-Eyed Jacks, etc. Once Lynch returned, I thought to combine all the sketches into a print and had them printed up and eventually they sold out.
After the release of the new series in 2017 there was some interest in a reprint of the 2015 poster. I took a handful of characters that were meant to be included the first time but for some reason never got past a rough sketch or didn’t fit into the trio themes I was trying to do. These new inclusions for the 2017 print are Teresa Banks, Judge Clinton Sternwood, Toad and Julee Cruise.
More recently I started on the new series characters, individually. And since a second viewing of the new series, I’ve made a list of themed trio groupings to eventually become another print down the road, Hopefully not 25 years.
As the print wasn’t initially the plan, I didn’t think to cover all characters and funny enough, Laura Palmer isn’t on it. Doppelganger Laura, Maddie Ferguson and Maddie in disguise as Laura are, but no actual Laura.
